Diving at The Pearl Farm


Atlas South Sea Pearl, one of the leading pearl company in the world has a number of farms in Indonesia, which one of them located in Alyui Bay - Raja Ampat, West Papua - Indonesia.


At the moment, the farm in Alyui site has 400.000 pinctada maxima oysters placed in more than 230 long lines at 7 different areas. Imagine how many marine organism live around this habitat? for sure, it is interesting to explore the underwater treasures as well as the farm routines.


The pearl farm in Alyui, is very famous for recreational diving. Many liveaboards stop by and take their divers to experience the macro and pelagic marine lifes. For those who loves to see big stuff, divers can see wobbegong, epaulette shark, dugong, dolphin, manta ray, and even crocodile.


For the macro lovers, the farm has the best spot to see hypocampus (bargibanti and denise), octopus (blue ring, mimic, wonderpus), ghost pipe fish (especially robbush ghost pipe fish), scorpion fish, and sea slugs (nudibranch, sea hares, ophistobranch). Hundreds of corals, fish, and molluscs are also the highligth for those who enjoy the colorful underwater scene.
